Obituary of Catherine Regina (Stevens)(Lentz) O'Shea
Catherine R. (Stevens) Lentz O’ Shea, 84, wife of the late Mark L. O’ Shea, of Peabody, died suddenly, at her home on Friday, August 29, 2003.
Born in Roslindale, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Josephine M. (Monahan) Stevens. She was a graduate of Boston English High School in 1934 and attended Boston City Hospital School of Nursing prior to her marriage.
Mrs. O’ Shea was employed at Doll Shoe in Peabody for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1964.
A resident of Peabody for 60 years, she was a an active communicant of St Adelaide’ s Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a Third Order Carmelite, Peabody.
She was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging, Peabody, the Riverside Square Dance Club, Danvers and a volunteer at My Brother’ s Table, Lynn.
She is survived by two sons, George and his wife Carol Lentz of Andover, Paul and his wife Virginia Barron of Lynn, one daughter, Janice and her husband Richard Bergeron of Salem, a son-in-law, Daniel Strabone of Peabody, 7 grandchildren, Deborah Baglio and Tricia Lentz, both of Peabody, Richard Bergeron and Kelly Batista, both of Salem, Daniel Strabone of New Hampshire, Lisa Lussier of Worcester, George Lentz of New York, eleven great grandchildren, five step-children, Mary Ellen & her husband John O’ Neil of Reading, Martha and her husband Brian Staskawicz and Kathleen and her husband James Newman, all of California, William and his wife Odessa O’ Shea of Illinois, Patrick and his wife Ann O’ Shea of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her first husband, George H. Lentz, a daughter, Louise Strabone, and two brothers, Roland Stevens and George Stevens.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 9 am from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, 12 Chestnut Street , Peabody, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at St Adelaide’ s Church, West Peabody. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday, 4 to 8 PM. Burial is in St Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. . For those who desire, donations may be made in his memory to the St Adelaide’ s Church, 17 Bow St., Peabody, MA 01960.
