Obituary of Julio C. Amorim

Julio C. Amorim, 80, of Peabody, husband of Beatriz L. (Smith) Amorim, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 with his family by his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Julio was born in Paradamonte Portugal on September 3, 1935, son of the late José and Ana (Cerqeira) Amorim. He was raised and educated in Portugal and emigrated to the United States in 1979 making his home in Peabody. Julio was employed for 36 years as a construction worker at Bardon Trimount in Burlington until his retirement in 1998. He was a caring father who created a home for his family, also enjoyed gardening and caring for his grapevines and watching soccer on television. In addition to his wife Beatriz, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Wilson and Suzanna Amorim, Ana and Craig Blount, Ricardo and Jillian Amorim, and Ivone and Steven Foisy; 5 grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Manuel and Rosinda Amorim, a sister, Alice Amorim and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by 4 brothers and a sister. His family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A family celebration of life service will be on Wednesday, May 11th at 12 noon held in the funeral home.
