Obituary of Ruth T Retos

Ruth T. Retos, 90, of Reading and formerly of Salem, MA, loving wife of the late Peter Retos, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on May 12, 2016 after a brief illness. She is survived by her three children: Deborah R. Tetreault and her husband, David of Gilford NH; Peter J. and his wife, Debbie of Naples, FL; Cheryl R. Bourque and her husband, Kevin of Reading; and six grand-children, Kimberly, Chris and his wife, Kristy, Derek, Alisyn, Trystan, and Justyn; three great-grandchildren, Nick, Tyler, and Michael; her beloved cousin, Dorothy Bates, nephew, Paul Skarmos, and niece, Betty Mitchell and her husband, John. She was predeceased by her loving sister, Florence Skarmos and her husband, Calvin. Born and raised in Salem, MA, she graduated from Salem High School in 1942, was employed briefly at Hytron before becoming a homemaker living in Salem most of her life. She and Peter were married for 48 years and spent many summers vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee and many retirement winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Her most enjoyable times were spent with family and friends, she will be dearly missed by all. Visitation hours will be held on May 15, 2016, at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, from 1-3pm. A memorial service will follow at 3pm at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home.
