Obituary of Caesar R. Porcello
Caesar R. Porcello, 90 PEABODY – Caesar R. Porcello, 90, beloved husband of the late Mary (Chalmers) Porcello, died peacefully on Monday May 16, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Molina) Porcello. He grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1943. He lived in Peabody for many years. Mr. Porcello entered the United States Army during World War II, and was in the Army Air Corps before it became the U.S. Air Force. He had gifted skills as a carpenter, and soon as an entrepreneur started Abbey Fence Company which is operated now by his son Dave. Caesar enjoyed fishing at the Danversport Bridge, and also ran a bait & tackle shop at that location. He also enjoyed attending Bingo nights, and faithfully devoted to his family. He is survived by four children and their spouses, David & Patricia Porcello of Peabody, Brian & Bella Porcello of Shrewsbury, Tony Porcello of Peabody, and Mary Anne & David Gormley of Mendon; two grandsons, Christopher Gormley and Matthew Gormley; two brothers Peter Porcello of Salem and Anthony Porcello of Peabody; two sisters, Theresa Bennett of Danvers and Katherine Fish of Osterville, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by brothers Rudolph, William, Joseph, and Edward Porcello and sisters Mary Porcello, Rita Porcello, and Emily Quirk. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday May 19, 2016 at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to Kaplan Hospice House, c/o Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
