Obituary of Virginia "Ginny" Shea

Ginny Shea died peacefully in her sleep at the Newbridge on the Charles Nursing Home on May 14, 2016. She was a loving mother to Kathy Craigen, Ginger Berenson, and Jeremiah Shea and a devoted nanny to Ginann Adgate, Nathan Craigen, Emerald Shea and Molly Shea. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Emmett Shea of Peabody, and parents Bill and Helen McManus of Lynn. Close family members include: her son-in-law Michael Craigen, daughter-in-law Mary Beth Shea, her brother Pete McManus, his wife Joan and their son Peter. Her first great grandchild, Emmett Adgate, is expected to arrive this summer. Ginny grew up in Lynn MA and was a long time resident of Peabody. She was a devoted home maker, mother, and nanny. She loved Irish music, eating chocolates, and going to Salem Willows with her daughter Kathy. She was a long time parishioner of St. John’s. Her son fondly remembers her saying the rosary every day. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 20 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Peabody. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
