Obituary of Geraldine Josephine (McMahon) Bloch

Geraldine J. (Mc Mahon) Bloch, 87, of Lynn, MA died peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family at her side after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of 68 years to Edward P. Bloch. She was born in Lynn, Ma on November 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Graham) McMahon and had been a life long resident of Lynn. Geraldine enjoyed a Saturday night out dancing for most of her life. She was always very lucky playing bingo and on her trips to Foxwoods in Ct., She and her husband with other couples enjoyed playing poker at their homes for many years and she also liked making her famous Irish Bread. She had been a member for many years at the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lynn and later at St Pious Church in Lynn and St. Ann’s in Peabody. What she cherished most was her role as wife, mother and grandmother and being there for them in all their celebrations. Besides her husband, Ed, she is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Sean Patrick and Marzena Bloch of Randolph and Thomas Anthony and Cheryl Bloch of Derry, NH, her two daughters and sons-in-law, Blanche and Raymond Rogalski of Danvers and Cynthia and Kevin Plunkett of Dedham, a brother, Peter Mc Mahon of Lynn, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jay Mc Mahon, Mamie D’Amico and Patricia Mc Mahon. A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St., Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., So Peabody at 12 Noon.
