Obituary of Robert F. "Rob" Thibodeau

Robert F. “Rob” Thibodeau, 58, of Peabody, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family at his side. Rob was born in Peabody, on June 11, 1957, son of Mary G. (Lehane) Thibodeau and the late Roy R. Thibodeau. He was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and was a lifelong resident. Rob was employed for 30 years at Gauthier Movers in Salem and also delivered appliances part time for Sears in Peabody. Rob’s life revolved around his family, was so proud of his 4 nieces and his grand niece, and enjoyed attending Holiday gatherings and cookouts. Rob was a great handyman who would help anyone in need, and as hobbies he enjoyed following all sports, going to Foxwoods and running. In addition to his loving mother Mary of Peabody, he is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Richard Thibodeau of Peabody, Mary Jean and Thomas Pineau of Chicopee, Margaret R. Carr of Lynn, and Linda A. and Jeffrey Brown of Harwood, MD; 4 cherished nieces, Melanie Carr, Andrea Pineau, Lauren Pineau, Danielle Riley and his very special grand niece Lucille Riley; 3 aunts, Catherine Lehane of Peabody, Eleanor Sullivan of CT and Jean Allard of IL, and numerous friends. Rob’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Care Dimensions earmarked for the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
