Obituary of Louise F. (Bowden) Chase

Louise Frances (Bowden) Chase, of Peabody, loving wife of 71 years to Allison “Babe” Chase died peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers after a brief illness. She was born in Peabody, the daughter of the late Russell and Mabel E. (Kimball) Bowden, she was a life long resident of Peabody and celebrated her 92nd Birthday on May 31, 2016. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in the class of 1941 and just recently attended her 75th reunion. Louise had worked in the City of Peabody School System in the cafeteria division for 10 years and later at Hannaford Supermarket in West Peabody in the bakery unit prior to her retirement. Louise enjoyed doing gardening around her home, playing cards, baking her favorite recipes for her family, doing ceramics, and sewing, crocheting and knitting clothes for her family. She also loved watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots games on television but what she cherished most was being with her family. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Danvers, the HUNS group of Shriners wives and traveled with them and her husband for 25 years to different countries and throughout the USA. She was a devoted member of the West Congregational Church. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. She is survived by her husband, Babe Chase, her children, Nancy Kucker of Peabody and a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dorothea Chase of Chelmsford, MA, her brother and sister-in-law, Russell E. and Marion Bowden of Peabody, her loving grandchildren, Jennifer Benoit of Peabody, Todd Chase of Newburyport, MA, her great grandchildren, Tyler and Briana Benoit and Thomas Chase, her many nieces and nephews including her godson Bruce and Denise Bowden, Donald and Mary Risteen, Dotty Klocker, Janice Tipert, Margie Shanoski, Kenny and Dotty Heckbert, Bruce and Lynn Heckbert, Carole and Paul Roach, Judy Dugar, Janet and Peter Sakelakos and Gail Negroni, Jimmy and Marion White; and her dear and close friends Rose Ball and Nancy Welch. She was predeceased in death by her six siblings, Edna Risteen, Alice Reid, Ruth Heckbert, Walter, James and Albert Bowden and her grandson Korey Kucker. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the West Congregational Church, Johnson St., West Peabody with Rev. Ralph Wetherington officiating.
