Obituary of Robert Leo Nicholas

Robert Leo Nicholas, 64, of Peabody, passed away suddenly in his sleep on June 3, 2016. Robert was born in Salem, on June 19, 1951, son of the late Leo and Marian (Ripley) Nicholas. He was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School in 1969 and was a lifelong resident. He then pursued his education at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst Campus and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1984. Robert traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S. in pursuit of his love of the Arts and Architecture with his most recent trip spending New Years in London England, Edenborough Scotland and Paris France. He was a member of the Peabody DeMolay, was a culinary connoisseur, loved ballroom dancing, winning many awards when younger, and as an avid gardener he was fortunate to having his garden listed in the Peabody’s Garden Club. Robert is survived by his brother and his wife, Edward G. and Adele E. Nicholas of Newmarket NH, a sister and her husband, Joanne and Joel Marie of Nahant; a niece, Michelle Nicholas, 3 nephews, Michael Nicholas, Gregory Marie and his wife Kelly, and Eric Marie; aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Celebration of Life service at 11:30 a.m. His burial will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
