Obituary of Dorothy A. (Rubico) Rogers

Dorothy A. (Rubico) Rogers, 89, of Peabody died peacefully early Saturday morning June 4, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Lee Rogers Jr. She was born in East Boston on November 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Colantino) Rubico and had resided in Peabody for the past 63 years. Dot was a successful real estate agent for over 40 years working at Allen Realty Trust , Hunneman Real Estate, Carlson Real Estate , Transformation Real Estate and Caldwell Banker agencies as well as operated on her own in the North Shore area prior to her retirement a few years ago. She had been rated in the top five percent of real estate agents in the Nation. Dot enjoyed going to her summer camp on Thompson Lake in Oxford, Maine and sharing time with her family gatherings. She also loved to play Scrabble and had a keen mind and wit . She was a devoted member of St. John’s Church Peabody. She is survived by her children, Steven and Robert Rogers both of Peabody, and Donna and her husband John “Jack” Hogan of Peabody, her grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Tryder and John P. Hogan Jr. both of Peabody and her great grandchildren, Gina Lee, Jaime Lynne and James Edward Tryder IV all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of nine Rubico siblings, Sylvio, William, Joseph and Jerome Rubico, Rose Jenkins, Mary Joslin, Anna Romano and Antoinette Meola. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 09:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
