Obituary of Dawn N. (Kirby) (Johnston) Longo

Dawn N. (Kirby) (Johnston) Longo PEABODY – Dawn N. (Kirby) (Johnston) Longo, 78, beloved wife of the late Louis Longo and the late Robert Johnston, died peacefully on Friday afternoon June 3, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late James and Clara (Maguire) Kirby. She grew up in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. She worked as a Bookkeeper with the Golden Island Restaurant of Danvers, and also with Peter’s Laundry/North Shore Linen of Salem. Dawn enjoyed traveling, cooking and hosting social gatherings for family and friends, and passionately cheered for the Bruins and Patriots. Her most treasured passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, to whom she was very dedicated as a loving and nurturing wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Scott Johnston of Middleton and Brett Johnston of Amesbury; three grandchildren, Nicholas Johnston of Amesbury, Samantha Johnston of Middleton, and Elyssa Johnston of Amesbury; five nieces and nephews, James Hallahan, Paul St. Pierre, Eileen Hallahan, Frank Hallahan, and Sandy Downer. Besides her two deceased husbands, she was sister of the late Jack Kirby, Ruth Hallahan, and Claire St. Pierre. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday at 10:30 AM for her Funeral Service at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
