Obituary of Francis "Frank" D. Nunes

Francis D. Nunes PEABODY – Francis D. Nunes, 64, died peacefully on Sunday June 5, 2016 at the Pilgrim Rehab & Nursing Home in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joao and Filomena (Nunes) Nunes. He lived there as a young boy, then came to the United States, settling in Peabody where he attended schools and lived the last 54 years. Mr. Nunes was an automobile mechanic, working with his brothers at Country Club Motors of Peabody until his health declined. Frank was a member of the Elks Lodge in Salem, and enjoyed having family gatherings. He is survived by a son, Daniel Nunes of Peabody; three brothers and a sister, John Nunes of Middleton, Joseph Nunes of Peabody, Filomena Silveira of Peabody, and Manuel Nunes of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Urn burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery Salem will be at a later date.
