Obituary of Katherine Ellen (Dumas) Camillieri

Katherine Ellen (Dumas) Camillieri, 77, of Peabody, died early Tuesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph Camillieri. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren and greatchildren as “the grams” and by her many family and childhood friends as “Cookie”. She was born in Dorchester on July 22, 1938 and was raised and resided in Danvers and Peabody most of her life. Katherine was an operating room technician at the NSMC Union hospital in Lynn for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She had a happy life and liked to read but what she enjoyed most was caring for and nurturing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved and was dearly devoted to her many animals and pets She is survived by her children, Donna Sikes of Batesburg, SC, Barry Brown and his wife Natalie of Marblehead, MA, Kelly Durgin of Danvers and Kerri Carter and her husband Peter of Peabody, her sisters, Judith McCarthy and Patricia Singletary both of Florida, her precious ten grandchildren, Nadine, Nikki, Taylor, Cameron, Matthew, Peter Jr., Jeff, Shaun, Jimmy and Corey and her eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the family lot in Harmony Grove Cemetery, 30 Grove St., Salem at 11:30 AM. Please meet at the Grove St. entrance at 11:15 AM.
