Obituary of Mary Ellen (McCarthy) Calder
Mary E. (Mc Carthy) Calder, of Milford, NH and formerly of Peabody and Topsfield, MA, died Friday July 1, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Daniel M. Calder. Mary was born in Peabody, MA on March 15, 1916 and was 100 years old. She was recently treated to a party by her family and friends as she became a centurion.
Mary was born and raised in Peabody and had worked at the Windsor Button Shop at the North Shore Shopping Center for over 30 years retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed traveling with her family and loved going out to restaurants and watching her soap operas. She was an ardent Red Sox Fan and enjoyed cooking her favorite recipes.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Janice M. and Matt Judge of Amherst, NH and Carole A. and George Caley of Lake Alfred, Florida, her grandchildren, Matthew F. Judge Jr. of Amherst, NH, Daniel C. Judge of Manchester, NH and Jennifer Judge of Londonderry, NH, John Caley and his wife Jennifer of Beverly MA and Jennifer Caley of Malden, MA, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Howard, John R. “Buck”, and Leo Mc Carthy and Rita Gaudette and the grandmother of the late Mark Bernard Judge.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 in her memory.
