Obituary of Mary "Maria" G. (Skouras) Psomos

Mary G. “Maria” (Skouras) Psomos PEABODY – Mary G. “Maria” (Skouras) Psomos, 76, died peacefully on Saturday afternoon July 2, 2016 at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late George and Ekreklia (Evagelakou) Skouras. She grew up in Salem where she attended schools, and besides a short time in Hamiltion, lived most of her life in Peabody. Mrs. Psomos worked as a Tester and in Research & Development with GTE Sylvania on Boston St. in Salem for over 30 years. She also was a Real Estate Investor on the North Shore. Maria enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to Greek music, and was a generous person. She had a gift of hospitality, as she enjoyed hosting social gatherings and those who visited enjoyed her great cooking skills. She had an inquisitive mind, and enjoyed solving manufacturing issues, or figuring out solutions to things in life. She is survived by a son and daughter, George E. Psomos of Danvers, and Lisa Jensen & her life companion Joe Szczechowicz of Peabody; three grandchildren, Amanda Jensen, Janelle Jensen, and Leann Jensen; a brother Peter Skouras, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Chris Skouras. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Friday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 7 P.M.
