Obituary of Vera L. (Novick) White

Vera L. (Novick) White, 69, of Peabody, wife of the late Brian C. White Jr., passed away unexpectedly at Beverly Hospital on Monday, July 4, 2016. Vera was born in Danvers on February 27, 1947 the daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Goodwin) Novick, and was raised, educated and a lifelong resident of Peabody. Vera was employed for 30 years as a presser at the former Sunbeam Cleansers in Peabody. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family and was so proud of her granddaughter Chrissy’s accomplishments. As a talented seamstress she enjoyed making her own clothes, walking, and spending time at gatherings with family and friends. Vera is survived by her daughter and husband, Lisa M. and Kevin Quirk of Peabody, her cherished granddaughter, Christine “Chrissy” Quirk of Peabody; her brothers, Wally Novick and his wife Claire, and Gordon Novick, her mother-in-law, Barbara White, a brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law, Sandra Novick, Dan and Joan White and a dear friend, Grace “Betty” McEwen all of Peabody; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and her other extended family friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Frank Novick and her father-in-law Brian C. White Sr. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 7th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 8th at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial donations be made to the Boston Children’s Hospital www.childrenshospital.org .
