Obituary of Virginia M. (Boyle) Dolan

Virginia Marie Dolan (Boyle), 93 passed away on June 21 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester. She was born on December 1, 1922, in Somerville, the only child of Eva M (Prout) Boyle and Frank Boyle. She graduated from Revere High School in 1941. She was the wife of the late Francis E Dolan with whom she shared fifty-nine years of marriage. She was a long time resident of Mashpee where she and Francis retired in 1985. She was an active communicant of Christ the King Catholic church in Mashpee. She was an employee of Jordan Marsh/Macy’s in Peabody and Hyannis for over thirty years. Virginia was a strong and independent woman who loved her animals, gardening, bingo, crafts, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her four children, Gail and her husband, Brian Doherty, Stephen, Deborah and her husband Scott Jeffers, and Cheryl and her husband, Scott Havenook; eleven grandchildren: Mark, Patrick, Kristin, Ian, Kathleen, Sorcha, Tristin, Damon, Bryce, Devin, and Bryna; and four great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 13, at the Conway-Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA from 4-7 PM. Her funeral mass will be held at St Rose Church, Topsfield on Thursday, July 14 at 11:00 AM.. Internment will be at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park on Lake Street, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia’s memory to The Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
