Obituary of Richard L. Flynn

Richard “Dick” Flynn, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, FL on Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born July 25, 1931 to the late John and Rhoda (Brown) Flynn in Lynn, MA. Dick was an avid golfer and longtime member of Tedesco Country Club. He also enjoyed golf memberships at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, SC and Windstar Country Club in Naples, FL. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949 and from Bentley in 1951. After serving his country in the US Navy from 1951-1955, he earned an advanced degree at Northeastern University. Survivors include his wife Molly Flynn; his children, Kathleen Pingree and her husband Robert of Georgetown, Suzanne Charochak and her husband Douglas of Peabody and Barbara O’Connell and her husband Scott of Burlington; his former wife Ann Flynn of Peabody; his grandchildren Kathleen, Michael and Kara Charochak, and Daniel, Thomas, Brian and Julie O’Connell; his sister Marian Trueira of Peabody; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 18th at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. and the committal of his ashes at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
