Obituary of Leonidas "Leo" Charles Vorrias

Leonidas Charles “Leo” Vorrias, 90, of Peabody, died on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Care One Health Center, Peabody with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth (Angelopoulos) Vorrias with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was born in Chios, Greece on July 11, 1926, the son of the late Charles and Maria Vorrias and was raised there before coming to Peabody. He had been a tanner at the Victory Leather Co., Peabody for over 30 years and later was employed at the Events for Rents Store, Peabody for 15 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. Leo enjoyed cooking up his favorite recipes for his family and friends and watching the soccer games but his most cherished time was spent being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Nancy Vorrias and Anthony and Teresa Vorrias all of Peabody, and Charles and Laura Vorrias of Boxford, MA ; a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Thomas Schreib of Peabody, MA, his 9 grandchildren, Ashley Plomondon, Andréa Arevalo, Krystina Vorrias, Heather and Tyler Preston, and Leonidas, Adriana, Elaina and Theodore Vorrias, two great grandchildren Alexander Plomondon and Caiden Arevalo and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Angelo and Peter Vorrias, Irene Kampanelas and Lemone Vorrias. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Monday 9:00 am from the Funeral Home followed by Services in St. Vasilios Greek Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery Peabody.
