Obituary of Joan I. (Flannigan) Fuller

Joan I. (Flannigan) Fuller PEABODY – Joan I. (Flannigan) Fuller, 80, died on Sunday July 10, 2016 at her home, following a period of declining health. Born in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Fannie (Mitchell) Flannigan. She grew up in Malden and in Maine. She graduated from Malden High School where she excelled in sports as captain for basketball, softball, and field hockey teams She lived in Peabody for nearly 30 years, then lived in Goffstown, NH for the last 22 years. Mrs. Fuller worked as a manager with Sears Department Store in Peabody. Joan was athletic, and enjoyed the outdoors including hiking, skiing, fly fishing and conservation activities. She also played tennis, softball, and racquetball. She enjoyed being in her gardens, and was a member of the Goffstown Gardening Club. She also enjoyed music, going to the theater and visiting with family and friends. She had a great affection for animals, and loved her cats. She is survived by two sons, Doug Fuller of Berkeley, CA and Scott Fuller of Woburn, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Mark Fuller, was the last living of five siblings, and was the partner of the late Robert Mitchell. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday from 4:30 -7 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A Graveside Committal Ceremony will be on Thursday at 11:30 AM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 NH Route 101, Bedford, NH.
