Obituary of Lucy F. (Gigliotti) Peterson

Lucy (Gigliotti) Peterson TOPSFIELD / PEABODY – Lucy F. (Gigliotti) Peterson, 103, beloved wife of the late Lester F. Peterson, died peacefully on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following an illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Scarcella) Gigliotti. She grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. She also attended the Posse-Nissen School of Physical Education, now affiliated with Northeastern University. She lived over 25 years in Topsfield before moving back to The Tannery in Peabody. Mrs. Peterson was very active in the Topsfield and Peabody community. She volunteered at polls in Peabody during elections until the age of 97, was a member of the New Meadows Garden Club, and longtime communicant at St. Rose of Lima Church in Topsfield. She was an avid golfer and bridge player, and enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Nigro & her husband Wayne of East Falmouth, Gerry Sylvanowicz of Peabody & her companion George Copelas, and Leslie Wells & her husband William of West Newbury; four grandchildren, Wendy Vignaux & her husband Jeremy, Leigh Limehouse, Alyssa Walton & her husband Don, and Rachael Harwood; two great-grandchildren Gregg Vignaux and Ellen Limehouse, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Dennis Sylvanowicz, her granddaughter’s husband Seph Limehouse, and sister of the late Camino, Ben, Catherine, Mary, Lena, Rachel, and Frank. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday July 21, 2016 from 5 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A private family graveside committal will be at a later time in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
