Obituary of Frances H. (Brushett) Cronin

Frances H. Cronin PEABODY Frances H. (Brushett) Cronin, 72, beloved wife of David Cronin of Peabody, died peacefully at her home Thursday afternoon surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Casey) Brushett, she attended Lynn schools. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1951. She resided in Peabody for the last 46 years. Mrs. Cronin, affectionately known as Frannie , enjoyed traveling, and considered San Francisco and Toronto among her favorites, having visited them both several times. She also considered Sedona, AZ, in her words, The most beautiful place on Earth. An avid reader, she loved histories and mysteries equally. She was also an enthusiastic puzzle and word-games player, she always beat her husband David at Scrabble, and with an investigative mind, was adept at figuring out the Who dunnit type mysteries. A woman of generous spirit, Frances was a strong advocate for charities. The Christian Children’ s Fund and Habitat for Humanity, among others, received her generous support. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, including: her husband, David Cronin of Peabody, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Ellen Cronin of Ipswich; two daughters, Patti Cronin of Peabody and Jeanne Cronin of Methuen; two grandchildren, Tim and Trista Cronin of Ipswich; a sister, Marian Irving of Martha’ s Vineyard, and 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Cronin. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Tuesday morning from 9 AM to 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut ST. location, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the NSMC Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
