Obituary of Joseph F. Spinale
Joseph F. Spinale, 82 GILFORD, NH / PEABODY -- Joseph F. Spinale, 82, died unexpectedly at his home that he shared with the love of his life, Janice Levesque, on Thursday July 28, 2016. Born in Danvers, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Hazel (White) Spinale. He grew up in Peabody where he attended schools, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1954. He lived in Swampscott for nearly 50 years, and lived in Gilford, NH for the last 12 years. Mr. Spinale was a painter with Alfred Theriault, and then a mechanic at A.C. Lawrence Leather Company of Peabody. He worked over 30 years as a machinist with Gloucester Engineering before retiring almost 20 years ago. He was also an Auxilliary Police Officer with the Town of Swampscott. Joe was a member of the Italian-American Club of Peabody, was a model car collector, and was an avid sports fan for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Nascar Racing. He was a member of the IA of M Union, and was most passionate about his four generations of family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by: Janice Levesque of Gilford, NH; two sons and two daughters, Joseph S. Spinale of Belmont, NH, Deborah Ago & her husband John of Groveland, James C Spinale & his wife Stephanie of Beverly, and Mary Ellen Spinale of West Peabody; five grandchildren, Austin Ago & his wife Jamie, Timothy Ago & his wife Caroline, Lindsey Ago all of Groveland, James J. Spinale of Beverly, and Joseph W. Spinale of Belmont, NH; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Olivia Ago of Groveland; a brother Vincent Spinale & his wife Marcia of Seabrook, NH, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Special Olympics, Attn: Memorial Gifts, 1133 19th St. NW, 12th Floor, Washington, D.C. 20036-3604.
