Obituary of Madonna M Collins

Madonna M (Reteiff) Collins, 87, of Peabody, died on Tuesday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard T Collins. Born in Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Flynn) Reteiff. She lived in Prince Edward Island, Canada and later moved to Peabody where she has lived for the past 60 years. Madonna was employed as a nursing assistant at Salem Hospital for many years and also served as a private duty nurse as well before retiring. She enjoyed walking, skating and playing bingo. She is survived by her three sons, Leonard Collins of Peabody, John Collins of Lynn and Robert Collins of Ramona, CA, her brother, Leonard D Reteiff of Canada, her sister, Denota Mayo of CA, and by her grandchildren, Trevor, Alex, Clayton, and April Collins and by her two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Finlay Collins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Murdock, Walter, Clayton, and Maurice Reteiff and by her sisters, Maisie White and Laurie Grenier, and by her grandson, Jared Collins. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at St. John’s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM and burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. At the request of the family there will be no visiting hours.
