Obituary of Katherine A. (Berry) Pendleton

Katherine A. Kay (Berry) Pendleton 75 years formerly of Peabody, died Sunday evening at her daughter’ s home in Hampton, NH after a brief illness. Mrs. Pendleton was born July 22, 1930 in Danvers daughter of the late Charles and Mary Rita (Crean) Berry. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1948. She resided in Peabody for 21 years, also in Salem MA and Londonderry NH before moving to Ft. Pierce FL in 1983. In August of 2005 she returned to Hampton NH to live. While residing in Ft. Pierce she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Waterview Towers from 1983 until her retirement in 1992. Prior to this, she had also worked in the same capacity at the Peabody Council on Aging in MA. Mrs. Pendleton was an avid traveler who also enjoyed reading as a hobby. She was a member of the Red Hatters in Ft. Pierce FL. She is survived by 4 daughters, Pamela A. Pam Long and her husband Edward Long Jr. of Hampton NH with whom she resided, Joan M. Pendleton of Salem MA, Kathryn L. Kathy Gil and her fiancée Mark J. Luz of Maricopa AZ and Debra M. Debbie Gardner and her fiancée Barry E. Hynes of Peabody; 9 grandchildren, Valerie Long, Edward Long III and Robert Long all of NH, Sheri Flaig, Ashley Gil and Nathan Gil all of AZ, U.S. Army Specialist Jason Gardner of Ft. Stuart GA, Joshua Gardner and Nicholas Emerson both of Peabody MA; her former son-in-law, Heliodoro Gil of Phoenix AZ and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A service will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respects Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Cremation will be held on Friday. Burial of her ashes in the family lot at St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem will be scheduled at a later date.
