Obituary of Louise T Curran

Louise T. (Durkee) Curran, 86, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph R. Curran. Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Margaret (MacInnes) Durkee. She was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of St. Charles High School. She later moved to Seabrook, NH for 26 years and has spent the 6 years living in Peabody. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. While living in Seabrook, she along with her husband, were founders of the Senior Citizens, and later, was a member of the Roger B. Trask Day care center at the Peabody Life Center. She also enjoyed traveling and reading. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald J. and Ellin Curran of Peabody, and Rev. John M. Curran O.M.I. Oblate Fathers of Tiajuana, Mexico; two sisters, Mary Connolly of Woburn and Edna Gallagher of Orleans; 2 grandchildren, Robert and his wife Lynnette of Merrimack, NH, and Thomas and his wife Melanie Curran of Orlando, Fla.; 4 great grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Zachary, and Madalyn Curran. She was the sister of the late Vera McElligott. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
