Obituary of Peter Crescenzo, Sr
Peter Crescenzo Sr. 71, of Peabody and formerly of East Boston, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a lengthy illness. He was the devoted husband of Claire (Fortier) Crescenzo with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late Biagio and Rose (Miccichi) Crescenzo. He was raised and educated in East Boston and has spent the last 40 years living in Peabody.
Peter was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1967. He then was employed with Local 6 Union as a heat and frost insulator for over 47 years before retiring. He enjoyed going out to eat, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Peter is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Peter Crescenzo Jr and Lindsey of Peabody, his siblings Mary Capo, Biagio Crescenzo, Julia Paulson, and Stephanie Facenda; his numerous nieces and nephews and is also survived by his friends and neighbor of over 50 years Louis and Dolores Torelli. He was predeceased by his siblings Charles Crescenzo and Vinnie Siciliano.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 10th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM followed a small Service at 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Following cremation, a private burial for family and friends will take place on Thursday at the family lot in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Peter’s name to: Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Office of Philanthropy, 41 Mall Rd, Burlington, MA 01805.
