Obituary of George Edward McNamara Jr.

George Edward McNamara Jr., 75, of Peabody, MA and formerly of East Boston, died peacefully Tuesday at his residence with his family at his side. He was the husband of Audrey (Tramonte) McNamara with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was born in Somerville, Ma on June 29, 1941 the son of the late George E. and Dorothy (O’Connell) McNamara and was raised in Roxbury and resided in East Boston before moving to Peabody 4 years ago. He was an administrator with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Highway Division for 25 years prior to his retirement. George enjoyed playing Golf, going on cruises. He also liked getting his news on Fox News station but his most enjoyable time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, his two daughters, Kelli and her husband Mack Resendes of Revere and Carolyn Michelman of Peabody, his sisters, Joan Sullivan of Abington, Patricia Manley of Clermont, Florida, Margaret Sampson of Enfield, Ct., his grandchildren, Martin and Nicole Michelman both of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of his late twin sister Winifred Finn of Roxbury. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2015 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church Peabody at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
