Obituary of Geraldine "Gerry" (Joiner) Waters

Geraldine “Gerry” M. (Joiner) Waters, of Peabody , wife of the late William E. Waters died Thursday at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem with her family at her side. She celebrated her 90th birthday on August 7 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Herlihy) Joiner. She was raised in Lynn Mass before moving to Peabody. Gerry was first employed at Hoffman’s Dept, Store in Lynn and later worked as a claims adjuster for the American Mutual Life Insurance Co, Wakefield. After raising her family, she was a counter person at Curtis Drug Store, Raymond’s Pharmacy and Piece of Pizza all located in downtown Peabody Square prior to her retirement. She enjoyed going camping with her family in New Hampshire and was a member of the Mother of Twins Club. She also liked doing crosswords puzzles and knitting and watching game shows on television. She is survived by a son, William F. Waters and his wife Carol of Kingston, NH, her daughters, Marilyn and her husband Richard Dorman of Essex and Margaret “Peggy” Borgioli and her husband Richard of Gloucester, MA, a sister Phyllis Matarozzo and her husband Joe of Derry, NH, her grandchildren, Robert and Daniel Waters, Jesse Roderick, Christopher Dorman, her step grandchildren Anastasia Holt and Ainsley Croteau of NH, her four great grandchildren, Collin Dorman, Connor and Lillian Waters and Emily Roderick, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William “Bob” Joiner and Florence Parshley. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill –Brodeur funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery Peabody.
