Obituary of Juliette Marie (O'Brien) Peterson

Juliette M. (O’Brien) Peterson, 92, a lifelong Peabody resident, died peacefully on Friday August 26, 2016 at the Brudnick Center for the Living in Peabody with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Peterson Jr. She was born in Peabody on May 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Leo J. and Mary E. (Cushing) O’Brien and was a graduate of St. John High School. Guided by her strong faith and her Irish heritage, Juliette was a homemaker raising her family of six children, tending to all their needs and she was also a Girl Scout Leader. She was an ardent sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots. She loved to bowl and was able to participate until she was well into her eighties. Her beautiful needlepoint and knitting were cherished by those lucky enough to receive them. She enjoyed her many days at the Torigian Senior Center playing bingo and socializing with her friends. Her most cherished time was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Patricia Peterson of Lynnfield, five daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Ralph Reid of Lynnfield, Marguerite and Richard Trufant, Constance and James Leaver and Catherine and Dave Gravel all of Peabody, and Barbara and Paul Leaver of Stoughton; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Rosemary O’Brien of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her twin sister Marguerite O’Brien and her brother Leo O’Brien. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
