Obituary of Gordon M. De Lomba

Gordon M. De Lomba DANVERS – Gordon M. De Lomba, 77, husband of Elaine (Toher) De Lomba, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday September 6, 2016 following an extended illness. Born in East Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John and Laurentina (Gonsalves) De Lomba. He grew up there and graduated from East Providence High School. He furthered his education at Johnson & Wales University in Providence. He enlisted in the United States Army, and served in peacetime until the beginning of the Vietnam War, discharged in 1962. Mr. De Lomba lived in Peabody for several years. He worked in human resources with Texaco and Chevron Oil Corporation, in Reading, MA then in Cherry Hill, NJ, and Atlanta, GA before retiring and moving back to Danvers where he lived the last 13 years. He is survived by his wife Elaine De Lomba of Danvers; two sons, Mark De Lomba & his wife Kathy of Danvers and Matthew De Lomba of Peabody, and daughter Maureen “Reena” De Lomba of Danvers; five grandchildren, Danny & Karla De Lomba, and Alyssa, Amy & Michael De Lomba all of Danvers, one great-granddaughter Acelyn De Lomba of OH; two brothers, John De Lomba of RI and Paul De Lomba of PA; a sister Elaine Moniz of RI, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children Michael, Melanie, Michelle, Monica, and Martin De Lomba. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Funeral Mass at 9 AM on Monday September 12, 2016 at St. Mary's of the Annunciation Church, Danvers. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
