Obituary of Julie A. (Carroll) Cosentino
Julie A. (Carroll) Cosentino PEABODY/READING – Julie A. (Carroll) Cosentino, 71, formerly of Reading and Swampscott, died peacefully after an extended illness at Brooksby Village Continuing Care on September 23, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Mary (McCue) and Edward P. Carroll Sr. of Swampscott. Julie was joyfully married to her husband of 47 years, William Cosentino, formerly of Reading and Everett. She was the loving mother of daughter Carolyn and her husband Phillip Copelas of North Reading, son Joseph Cosentino and his wife Debbie of Walnut Creek, CA, and daughter Joyce and her husband Joseph Wells of North Reading. Julie was the cherished "Nana" to seven grandchildren: Courtney, Jack, Chloe, Kylie, Josie, Lucy, and Harrison, and the devoted "Auntie" to many nieces and nephews. Julie is survived by eight beloved sisters and brothers: Margaret Ori of Naples, FL, Edward P. Carroll Jr. of West Lynnwood, WA, Francis Carroll of Naples, FL, Maurice Carroll of Marblehead, Bill Carroll of Aurora, CO, Jane Carroll of Naples, FL, Alice Howard of Swampscott, and Roger Carroll of Salem. Julie graduated from Swampscott High School as Class Treasurer in 1963. She went on to graduate from Emmanuel College in Boston with a BS in Mathematics in 1967. She taught advanced high school Mathematics after college, including at Lynn Classical High School. In addition to raising her family, Julie later held various positions for the Town of Reading, retiring as the Assistant Treasurer in 2005. Julie loved getting to know people and was very involved in her community. She was a long time member of the Reading League of Women Voters and a devoted member of Saint Agnes Parish in Reading, where she served as lay minister, religious educator, and choir singer. Julie will be lovingly remembered for her love of baking, friendly smile, and endearing kindness. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for visitation on Thursday October 13, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 14, 2016 at 11 AM in the Brooksby Village Chapel, 300 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody.
