Obituary of Claire Ann Edmands

Claire Ann (Ledoux) Edmands, 89, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank A Edmands, Sr. Born in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Rose (Coté) Ledoux. She was raised and educated in Wakefield, later lived in Melrose and has spent the last 61 years living in Peabody. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1946. Claire was employed for over 26 years as rental agent at Terrace Estates in Peabody before retiring nine years ago. Claire was a long time member of the St. John’s Ladies Sodality and served as a Prefect for a year as well. She volunteered for many years for hug-a-bears at the senior center in Peabody; however, her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family and sharing in all of their activities. She will be dearly missed by all. Claire is survived by her three sons, Frank A Edmands, Jr, Lawrence Edmands, both of Peabody and by John and his wife Deborah Edmands of Amesbury, her daughter, Janet Bergstrom of Peabody and also by her beloved 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Edmands and by her two brothers, Joseph and Raymond Ledoux. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody.
