Obituary of Doris J. (Lebel) Santapaula

Doris J. (Lebel) Santapaula PEABODY – Doris J. (Lebel) Santapaula, 91, beloved wife of the late Ernest Santapaula, died peacefully on Tuesday September 27, 2016 at the Hunt Retirement & Nursing Center in Danvers. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (O’Connor) Lebel. She grew up in Peabody where she lived most of her life, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mrs. Santapaula worked for the City of Peabody Public Schools as a Cook in the Cafeteria for nearly 24 years before retiring 27 years ago. She kept busy at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly as an assistant House Manager for several years. Doris enjoyed going to the Peabody Senior Center, square dancing, family vacations, watching her grandchildren play sports, Bingo, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also volunteered at the Torigian Community Life Center with the Hug-A-Bear Project, collaborating with the Peabody Police Department. She is survived by two daughters and two sons, Gary Santapaula of Danvers, Brian & his wife Paula of Lynn, Donna Wilson & her husband Robert of Peabody, and Sheila Santapaula of Danvers; nine grandchildren, Delia, Jamie, Tristan, Brentan, Matthew, Stephanie, Breanna, Michael, and Steven; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Aidan, Jace, Abby, Annabella, and Harper; a brother Ralph Lebel & his wife Jeanette of Danvers, and sister Beatrice Smith of Peabody, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a sister Irene & her husband Joel Bean, and brother-in-law Alfred Smith. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:30 A.M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, with a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11:30 A.M. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers the family “asks for prayers” in honor of Doris and her family.
