Obituary of Claire Louise Powers

Claire Louise (Donahue) Powers, 63, of Peabody, passed on October 1, 2016 of pancreatic and Liver cancer at Kaplan Hospice House, Danvers surrounded by her family. She was born on February 27, 1953 to Bernard J. and Claire L. (Hadley) Donahue. She was the wife of Harry James Powers and the mother of Michael and his wife Leah Powers of Weare, NH. Claire was an active outdoor enthusiast travelling the world scuba diving with her husband Harry. She had a great influence to all who met her and she will be forever missed. Claire had been a compliance officer at the National Labor Relations Board regional office in Boston for 39 years. Besides her husband and son and daughter-in-law, she is survived by her brother Kevin P. Donahue of Lynnfield and a sister June Salvaneschi and her husband Joseph of Atkinson, NH. She was the sister of the late Bernard Donahue and the late Regina Donahue McLaughlin. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, South Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St.,suite 102-B, Danvers MA 01923 who provided care for her at the end.
