Obituary of Richard P. Allen
Richard P. Allen PEABODY – Richard P. Allen, 81, beloved husband of Patricia (Scaltrito) Allen, lost his battle after a lengthy illness on Monday October 3, 2016 at the North Shore Medical Center—Union Hospital in Lynn. Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late Albert and Frances (Pierce) Allen. He graduated from Melrose High School and went on to study at Emerson College where he majored in Speech Education. He lived in Peabody for over 45 years. Mr. Allen had a 30 year career in Financial Services. He worked with the Credit Union National Association, and was a Boston District Manager for many years with the Cuna Mutual Insurance Group of Madison, WI until retiring in 1991. Richard enjoyed golf, fishing excursions, and reading. He was also an avid Boston sports fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. He was most passionate about spending time with his family, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife Patricia Allen of Peabody, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage; a daughter Cheryl Allen D’Eon of Peabody and a son Richard Allen of Kingston, NH; three grandchildren, Casey D’Eon, Derek Allen, and Carly D’Eon; a sister Martha Daley of Tewksbury, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother Donald Allen. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday October 7, 2016 at 11 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
