Obituary of Robert J. McKenzie

Robert J. McKenzie, 69, of Chelsea, died early Wednesday morning at the Hunt Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness. He was the former husband of Dolores (Corlito) McKenzie of Peabody. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Chester and Frances (Williams) McKenzie. He was raised in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He later lived in Peabody for 2o years and has spent the last 5 years living in Chelsea. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Sales Engineer in the Glass industry. He first worked for Salem Glass for many years and later worked for Karas and Karas of South Boston. He also served for five years with the United States Navy from 1957 until 1962 and was stationed in Newport, Rhode Island. He is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Charlene McKenzie and Stephen McKenzie, all of Peabody, Michael and Rachael McKenzie of Lynn; a daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and James Gill of Danvers; a brother, Louis McKenzie of Chelsea; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 am to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 5 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to the North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
