Obituary of Blanche A Barnas

Blanche A. (Armstrong) Barnas, 81, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Blueberry Hill Health Care Center in Beverly, Following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Ludwik Barnas. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Charlotte (Wright) Armstrong. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the leather industry for Bobcat Tanning in Peabody for 15 years as a feeder. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She us survived by a son, Michael Jaskiel of Nashua, NH; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and George Drillis of Peabody and Maryann and James Flynn of Beverly; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Charlotte Armstrong of Peabody, and Kenneth and Pat Armstrong of Beverly; 3 sisters, Shirley Hockenll of Middleton, Doris Lee of Arizona, and Barbara Prescott of Middleton; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late George, Richard, Donald and Ruth Armstrong and Marilyn Gagnon. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the family lot in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
