Obituary of Georgia Argetes

Georgia Argetes, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20th at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers. Born in Agrinion, Greece, she is the daughter of the late Lambro and Vasiliki (Farnos) Bisthounis. Georgia joined her sister in Peabody in 1952. She worked as a hostess at the Colonial Restaurant and was a sales clerk at Ann Taylor. Georgia loved to cook, dance, exercise and entertain; she loved fashion. She was a member of Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. Georgia was devoted to her family and many dear friends; she will truly be missed. She is survived by her niece, Jane Nadeau of Peabody and her nephew Tony Anastas and his wife Cathie of Amherst, New York; two great grand nephews: Mark Nadeau and Alex Anastas; her brother: Spiros Bisthounis and her sister: Maria Tsirou of Greece; and many nieces and nephews in Greece. She is predeceased by her brothers: Taki, Demo, George and Costas Bisthounis and sisters: Dorothea Anastasopoulos and Katina Anastasiou. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos Street, Peabody on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Friday (Today) from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
