Obituary of Donald W Wronkowski

Donald W. Wronkowski, 85, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Monday evening at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. He was the devoted husband of Christine MacLean (Grieve) Wronkowski with whom he shared over 61 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Kogut) Wronkowski; he was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1948. Following high school, Donald enlisted with United States Army and served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army after 23+ years of service. After his military service, Donald was employed as a letter carrier and window clerk for the United States Post Office before he retired. Upon his retirement, Donald went back to work part time as a sacker at Market Basket in Danvers for an additional 12 years before finally retiring. Donald enjoyed watching the Bruins and Patriots, but his favorite endeavor was spending time with his family and friends and sharing in all of their activities. He will be dearly missed by all. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Irene Wronkowski of Haverhill, Lynn Wronkowski and her fiancé William H. Bearden of Exeter, NH, and Diane Wronkowski of Peabody. He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Wronkowski and his brother, Charles Wronkowski. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, 11/1 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody and his Funeral will be on Wednesday, 11/2 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the Peter A.
