Obituary of Frances T. (Coyne) Rafferty

Frances T. (Coyne) Rafferty PEABODY--Frances T. (Coyne) Rafferty 88 years, wife of Thomas G. Rafferty of Beverly, Friday evening at the Essex Park Nursing & Retirement Home in Beverly. Mrs. Rafferty was born January 8, 1918 in Lynn, daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (McNamara) Coyne. She lived in Lynn in her youth, and was educated in Lynn. She lived there for years before moving to Peabody where she resided 35 years before moving to Beverly in 1991. Mrs. Rafferty was a housewife who belonged to St. John’ s Ladies Sodality in Peabody and was a member of the Lynnfield Art Guild. She attended the Phil Perkins School and loved to paint. For 15 years she belonged to the Metro Bowling Team in Peabody. Mrs. Rafferty is survived by a daughter Donna M. Ellis of Peabody; 2 sons and their wives, Thomas P. and Marianne Rafferty of Greenville NH and Brian M. and Carrie Rafferty of Boxford; a sister and 2 brothers-in-law, Mary and Edward Klingenberg of Lynnfield and Thomas Dolan of Peabody; 6 grandchildren, Terry Ellis of Brookline, Kimberly Neuffer of NH, Christopher Ellis of Needham, Kelley Rafferty and Mollie Rafferty both of WY and Rebecca Becky Rafferty of LA; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Bernard Coyne, Alice McBrien and Helen Dolan. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 A.M. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
