Obituary of Dorothy (Grayton) Stover
Dorothy (Grayton) Stover, 93, of Peabody, died Thursday evening with her family by her side following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Winston Stover.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Semenuk) Grayton. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1940. She later lived in Belfast Maine for 25 years before moving back to Peabody several years ago.
Dorothy was employed for over 41 years at General Electric in Lynn doing peace work and assembly before retiring many years ago.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and sewing and was an avid Boston sports fan. She was a selfless and giving person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was dearly loved by all and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her brothers, Joseph and his wife Carol Grayton of FL and Robert and his wife Shirley Grayton of Danvers, her sister, Ruth Sippel of Peabody and by several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Matthew Grayton, Tynna Tkachuk, Amy Lazarakis, Florence Hibbard, and Pauline Grayton.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
