Obituary of Rose (Bua) Sorrentino

Peabody, Rose (Bua) Sorrentino, 85, of Peabody and formerly of Revere, died Wednesday at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the Late Antonio Sorrentino. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 10, 1918, the daughter of the late Damiano and Micheala (Bertolino) Bua, she moved in her youth to the North End of Boston. Later she moved to Revere where she resided for 30 years before moving to West Peabody 16 years ago. She had been a caretaker to her family for many years. She was a member of the Golden Age Club of Peabody and enjoyed playing Bingo at the Torigian Comunnity Life Center. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Joanne Sorrentino of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Andrea Lo Grasso of Peabody; 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Nicole Sorrentino, Francesca, Michele and Salvatore Lo Grasso all of Peabody and Phillip, Anthony,Joanna and Rosalie Filetto all of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Angelo, Frank and Anthony Bua and Jennie Bertolino. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited.
