Obituary of Phillip R. Kumph, Sr.

Formerly of West Peabody – Phillip R. Kumph, Sr., 80, beloved husband of Concetta (Polvere) Kumph, passed away on Sunday, December 11th at Beverly Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Beverly, he is the son of the late Clifton W. and Eleanor (Homan) Kumph. Phillip grew up in Beverly and Boston. He was the president of Light House Communications. Phillip was an active member of the Masons. He had affiliations with the St. John’s Lodge in Boston, the Golden Fleece Lodge of Lynn and the Aleppo Shriners of Wilmington and the Boston Commandery. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He enjoyed boating, cooking, especially making Sunday dinners for his family and cooking for any Masonic gatherings. Phillips greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be truly missed by his loving family and his many friends. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Connie, he is survived by his four children: Phillip R. Kumph, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Andover, Theresa Dunn and her husband William of Groveland, Suzanne Manfredonia and her husband John of Groveland and Patricia Fitzpatrick and her husband Brian of Peabody; two brothers: Alan Kumph and his wife Ethel of Charleston, SC and David Kumph of Ipswich; three sisters: Danelda Munger and Elizabeth Kumph both of Westminster and Nancy Sargent of Plymouth; and six grandchildren: Justin, Kendra, Briana, Patrick, Nicholas and Kaylyn. He is predeceased by his brothers: Charles and Clifton Kumph. A Funeral Service will be held at the Conway, Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, 124 Abbot St., Andover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Phillip’s Memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
