Obituary of Thomas F. McCann

Thomas F. McCann PEABODY – Thomas F. McCann, Jr., 83, beloved husband of Pauline (Adorn) McCann, died peacefully on Thursday December 15, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Mildred (McDonald) McCann, Sr. He grew up there and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1951. He lived in Malden several years, and lived in Peabody for the last 51 years. Mr. McCann was a Research and Development Technician with the Polaroid Company, retiring 28 years ago. Thomas enjoyed bowling and served with the National Guard in the 1950’s, and was a member of the AARP. He was passionate and devoted to his family and helping children with special needs. He was a Charter Member of the Peabody Parents of Children with Special Needs, and volunteered with North Shore A.R.C. He is survived by his wife Pauline (Adorn) McCann of Peabody, with whom he shared over 59 years of marriage; two daughters, Karen J. McCann and Cheryl J. McCann both of Peabody, a brother James McCann of Lynnfield and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by his brother, John McCann. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday December 19, 2016 for a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 6 PM in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore ARC, 64 Holten St., Danvers, MA 01923.
