Obituary of Robert F Crean

Robert F Crean, 90, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday morning at his home. He was the husband of the late Barbara (McLaughlin) Crean. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late James J and Helen C (Case) Crean. He was a life long resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. Robert was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon his discharge from the military, Robert was employed at the former AC Lawrence Company for many years before being employed at the Salem Country Club in Peabody as a bar manager in which he worked for over 30 years before retiring 15 years ago. Robert was a member of the Peabody Elks and enjoyed playing Golf and Cards and also enjoyed fishing as well. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Bertrand of Saugus, his son, Robert Crean of Peabody and by his beloved three grandchildren, Katie Buckley, Nick Bertrand and Stephanie Crean, his great grandchild, Carter, and also by his three step-grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, and Timothy Hubisz. He was predeceased by his brother James Crean. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St. Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
