Obituary of Virginia L. (White) Fleet

Virginia (White) Fleet, 77, of Del Ray Beach, Fl, and formerly of Marblehead and Salem, Ma. died Thursday at the Del Ray Beach Medical Center, after a short illness. She was born in Flint, Michigan, the daughter Of the late G. Arthur. and Mildred T. (Mc Nabb) White and resided in Lowell, Mass during her youth. She later moved to Salem Mass graduating as Salutatorian from Salem High in1942 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Salem Commercial School and later graduated Cum Laude from Salem State College in 1970. She taught second grade at St. Mary’ s Star of the Sea School in Beverly for 2 years. She then became an executive secretary at Walbar Inc. the Peabody industrial Park for 21 years retiring in 1994. She later did proof reading for college textbooks at the TKM Co. of Peabody. She had resided in Del Ray Beach Florida for the past 3 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed animals, especially her cats. She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward F. Fleet of Del Ray Beach, Fl and Jeffrey and Sandra Fleet of Rehoboth, MA., a brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Barbara White of Peabody; 4 sisters and a brother-in-law, Eleanor and Henry Stanford of Danvers, Constance Mc Carthy of Peabody, Faith Peura of Chester, Pa and Donna Widener of Elkhart, In, 4 grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Erin and Jonathan Fleet all of Rehoboth, Ma.,and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of Eric P. Fleet who died last week and the former wife of the late William Fleet. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C., 20077 in her memory.
