Obituary of Georgia A. (Millaras) Vontzalides

Georgia (Millaras) Vontzalides PEABODY – Georgia (Millaras) Vontzalides, 95, beloved wife of the late Dr. Aristotle N. Vontzalides, DMD, died peacefully on Thursday January 26, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in New London, CT, she was the daughter of Athanasios and Euphrosine Millaras. She grew up there, and after high school graduated from Boston University. Mrs. Vontzalides was a Real Estate Broker, and owned her agency Northgate Realty in Peabody. Georgia was very athletic, and played basketball while at BU. She was an avid skier in winter, and golfer in the warmer months. She was a member with her husband at Salem Country Club in Peabody where she was a past Ladies Club Champion, and won the Four Ball Tourney with her daughter twice. She was active in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Nicholas and his wife Joan Vontzalides of Ipswich, Athan and his wife Colleen Vontzalides of Peabody, and Anna and her husband Nicholas Mandragouras of Topsfield; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Photine Demos, Sophia Vartelas, Stacey Tasoulas, Peter Millaras, and John Millaras. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to either St. Vasilios Bell Restoration Fund, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA or to Mass Eye & Ear, 243 Charles St., Boston, MA.
