Obituary of Edward J. Tyburc, Jr.

Edward J. Tyburc, Jr. PEABODY – Edward J. Tyburc, Jr., 70, beloved husband of Dorothy (Kokoras) Tyburc, died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at Beverly Hospital, while surrounded by the comforting presence of his family. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Esther (Codair) Tyburc, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1966. He continued his education at East Coast Aerotech for mechanical training. Mr. Tyburc was a Fire Fighter with the City of Peabody with 32 years of service. Ed played with the Lt. Norman Prince Drum & Bugle Corps of Boston, and also The Musketeers Drum & Bugle Corps in Peabody. He played football in high school. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and being on the ocean. He made unique walking sticks from old Christmas Trees, and played in a touch football league. He loved his career of service as a Fire Fighter to the community and was very supportive of the Fire Fighters Union. He was most passionate about his dedication to family and enjoyed gatherings to cook on the grill in warmer months. He is survived by his wife Dorothy “Dottie” (Kokoras) Tyburc of Peabody, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; a daughter Lisa Griffith and her husband Jason of NH; two granddaughters, Nicole and Sarah Griffith; a sister Cyndi Ransom and husband Mike of Peabody, one nephew Ronald Ransom & Melissa Haidaczuk and niece Robyn Follis & Steve. He was father of the late Edward “Edzu” Tyburc. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday February 3, 2017 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held today (Thursday) from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to either the Inn-Between or Inn-Transtion, Washington St., Peabody, MA 01960.
