Obituary of Clifford W Bissell, Jr
Clifford W. Bissell, Jr. passed away on January 31, 2017 at The Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers, with his loved ones by his side after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer.
He was born on June 18, 1956 in Lynn, MA, the son of the late Olive (Lufkin) and Clifford Bissell Sr. He graduated from Lynn English High in 1974. He then worked in the family business with his Dad.
He joined the Naval Reserves in 1984, where he received the Naval Reserve Meritorious Medal for his service.
Cliff relished the game of baseball and spent many years coaching both Little League and Majors in both Lynn for 10 years with the West Lynn American League and then til recently with Beverly Teams. It was the love of his life and he believed in the players having fun with the game regardless of wins or losses. Cliff also had a passion for music and especially anything that had to do with the Beatles. He could stump any trivia buff. His mind was amazing.
He joined the Delta Electronics Company in 1995 and was awarded a 20 year plaque for his service.
Cliff is survived by his 7 sisters, Marcia Fournier and her husband Jimmy (deceased), Carole Lundrigan and her husband Charles, Jane Dennison and her husband Arthur, Marilyn Santerre and her husband James, Priscilla LaBrecque and her husband, Joseph, Norma Bergeron and her husband Tate and Robin Enquist. He also has many, nieces, nephews and close friends that will always remember his bravery, determination and grace throughout his journey.
He was cared for throughout his sickness by his niece, Robin, who never left his side and gave him a quality of life that was beyond imagination.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. In Lieu of flowers, considerations for contribution to the Beverly Little League would be appreciated.
